WebApr 26, 2024 · I set up the timing control per the FItech instructions and it won't fire. I was cranking on it testing for spark with my timing light and it back fired so hard it blew the muffler wide open. The motor is a 340. I know it's timing related, bit I followed the instructions to a T. I have 12vbon the white wire, I verified spark from the MSD box.
WebFeb 11, 2016 · Contacted FiTech and they thought it was a low voltage condition. I put a meter on the keyed circuit and there is no voltage drop untill the alternator slows from the cutout condition , and even then it only drops from 13.8-9 to 12.0 (Going from Alternator to battery voltage). Seems to have been a mistake, after several days of fighting issues the FiTech is coming back off and a carb going back on.

I had failures on 2 ecus like that myself. I think that they realized pwm in the ecu was building too much heat and was killing the ecu. Pwm was the reason for power on the orange wire unlike some of the other systems. You can try and wire in a relay but in my case the ecus still … the qugthe quet girl
